Job Description: Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with partners overseeing the design control of RF products to implement necessary changes in circuit design, components, production processes, and testers.
Evaluate products not meeting specifications, identifying improvements in quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Perform investigations, design experiments, and conduct detailed worst-case analog and digital circuit analyses, simulations, integrations, and verifications for projects of basic scope.
Select components based on specifications and reliability analyses.
Operate in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
Duties:
Establish strong working relationships and build trust with partners and production personnel controlling the design of RF products.
Apply existing design solutions to routine problems.
Evaluate potential solutions for electronic assemblies to enhance cost, quality, and performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Analyze technical requirements written by others to determine optimal technical solutions for routine problems or projects.
Compile and provide necessary information for continuous improvement, cost reduction opportunities, and the adoption of design changes.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
Understanding of RF theory, satellite communications, GPS receiver system-level design, RF design, GPS signal processing & navigation.
Strong influencing skills and excellent communication abilities.
Technical comprehension of microprocessor-based embedded electronic, software, and mechanical packaging designs.
Familiarity with testing, manufacturing, quality control, and marketing requirements.
Ability to perform routine engineering tasks and make preliminary selections of engineering alternatives.
Capability to mentor and train technicians, enhancing their technical abilities.
Interface with customers under supervisor guidance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
Experience in electronic circuit design.
Desired:
Experience with Pspice or other circuit simulation tools.
Experience with MathCAD.
Familiarity with Mentor Graphics or other schematic capture tools.
Experience with designing to harsh environmental specifications.
Experience with 8, 16, or 32-bit microcontrollers.
Additional Information:
Metatarsals are required for the first day.
Onsite position in Fargo. 6-month assignment with the possibility of extension.
Hours: 1st shift, 8 am - 5 pm (flexible).
