Form of workThe Manufacturing Engineer will work in an advisory capacity to manufacturing, engineering, and/or purchasing departments using knowledge of methods and materials in a specialized field or general manufacturing to optimize cost and quality. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead the process development and manufacturing of Bobcat Electric Platforms, including the T7X, the world's first electric loader.
Process Analysis
- Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to increase build efficiency and build capacity
- Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment to improve product quality and reduce lead times
- Manage the creation and continual improvement of work instruction documentation
- Distribute manufacturing changes and work instructions to affected personnel
- Ensure manufacturing employees are properly trained and following appropriate processes
- Assists in the installation of new equipment and helps train employees in the proper use of the equipment
- Update routings and Manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) as required to support Engineering, Quality, or Supplier requests
Problem-Solving
- Ability to work closely with an OEM to meet key business objectives.
- Plant layout and design to ensure balanced methods and available capacity to meet customer demand
- Participate in capital project planning and execution to meet business and production needs
- Work closely with the design team to ensure that new products can be manufactured in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- Collaborate with other departments such as quality assurance, procurement, and production to ensure that all products meet customer requirements and company standards
- Bachelor's Degree in a Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Engineering related field.
- Electric vehicle manufacturing is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- 2+ years of experience
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred with Green Belt or Black Belt training or certification
- Less than 10% travel
