Description

I. Position Purpose/Scope: What are the key objectives of the position? Supports the planning processes, equipment, and software needed to operate coding processes for designated areas of responsibility within the Assembly.

II. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

List the major duties/accountabilities to achieve the position's key objectives.

· Supports engineering changes, deviations, process method changes, process sequence changes, etc. to the assembly process.

· Defines and implements test plan, and/or method for module, system, and process area.

· Plans, procures, implements, and provides technical support for process, equipment, software, hardware, and/or process definition.

· Supports projects for continuous improvement, structural planning, and/or other series and new model-related planning projects.

· Provides technical guidance and support to assigned process area/module.

· Evaluate and implement software packages required for the production system (i.e. test/coding data, upgrades, etc.).

· Provides training and process improvement for production utilizing responsible systems and processes area and/or module.

· Assists with analysis of process, quality, and/or systems failures not solvable by production areas. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

III. Position Competencies:

A) Education: BS degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering preferred) or the equivalent of 4 years of manufacturing engineering experience.

B) Experience: 2+ years of technical experience in automotive manufacturing engineering.

C) Training: As applicable, per Plant Spartanburg training guidelines.

D) Licenses and/or Certifications: N/A

E) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Basic = less than 1 year of experience/training needed.

Intermediate = 1 – 3 years of experience/some training may be needed.

Advanced = 3-5 years experience/no training needed.

Expert = 5+ years experience/able to train others.

· 2+ years’ experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· 1+ years of knowledge in assembly processes about electrical automotive systems.

· 1+ years’ experience in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

· 1+ years’ experience in short/long-term project management skills.

· (Structure projects, continuous improvements, and process analysis).

· 1+ years’ experience in programming and application knowledge (database management, IT systems) (preferred).

· 1+ years of professional experience and knowledge of vehicle systems (electrical preferred).

· Ability to demonstrate proficiency in applying statistical methods (risk filters, FMEAs, SPC, process/machine capability).

Important Notes:-

Work: candidates should be available to be onsite 5 days a week, job requires onsite work as it’s tied to production

Must Have: 1. Vehicle / Automotive / Manufacturing knowledge, must have 1, in an engineering capacity 2. Understands what it means to ‘Flash’ and could have the aptitude to do so a. This is more than being good with excel/word. The person will need to be a problem solver and confident in using technologies, learning and applying new software. b. Flashing (writing data to a control unit - ECU), ex: when iphone goes through an update Apple is ‘flashing’ your phone with the update c. ECU: electronic control unit, (ex: radio in the car, headlights, airbags, etc.) requires sensors and ‘computer’ to maintain specific job d. Working with encryption to prevent hacking 3. General Understanding of programming (Anyone who understands ladder logic or app development would be a good fit – anyone who understands one kind of programming (excel VBA) will understand how to apply that learning to this role

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
