The Electrical Engineer is a professional responsible for designing and applying the principles of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism to insure applicability of electrical products and systems. They will perform risk assessments and ensures compliance with safety standards and Electrical Engineering codes. This position will also work with various fields, including electronics engineering transmission & distribution engineering, to develop these critical pieces necessary in our modern lives. There will be an overall accountability for insuring construction projects are designed in a safe and effective manner. This role is fully responsible for cultivating and safeguarding opportunities for future projects by providing excellent customer service, injury free work environment by ensuring safe work practices, maintaining quality assurance, and building financially successful projects that are driven by company directives.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Deep knowledge of electrical design, development, simulation, prototyping, and testing of electrical equipment and systems
- Understanding of current NFPA 70E safety requirements.
- Hands-on experience using design and calculation software.
- Reviews the electrical portion of plans and specifications prior to start of construction to prepare submittals, RFI’s, and work plans.
- Prepares and reviews electrical design submittals and shop drawings for conformance with contractual requirements.
- Prepares correspondence, cost estimates, sketches, electrical specifications, recommended procedures, and revised construction schedules to submit to Client for contract changes.
- Checks and ensures construction progress as part of the Contractor Quality Control team by surveillance of installation and construction of electrical components.
- Acts a part of the Contractor Quality Control team to ensure tests and testing requirements identified in the plans and specifications are met.
- Prepares Commissioning Plans and acts as Commissioning Engineer for final testing and acceptance of electrical equipment by client.
- Define customer engineering needs and requirements.
- Ensure that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards.
- Promote positive customer relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, and continually instilling this philosophy in the business unit with regards to safety, quality, customer service, and profitability.
- Assist in division profitability through effective project execution.
- Review the overall contractual requirements and risks for assigned projects.
- Manage project review process with emphasis on ensuring quality engineering best practices.
- Review construction estimates to align them with technical requirements, project workflow and customer’s master schedule.
- Proactively and systematically communicate challenges, risks, and successes to the Project Executive, the team, and direct reports.
- Demonstrate a consistent ability to communicate with tact and professionalism when engaging with external and internal customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
