Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Technician
Location: Spring Hill, TN
Industry: automotive manufacturing, assembly
Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire
Pay: $65-80k
Reports to: EHS Manager, Plant Manager
Objective:
To provide HSE Personnel and Associates with the assistance and support necessary to ensure a safe working environment and maintain compliance with applicable HSE programs, regulations, and laws. Further perform activities recognized to achieve / maintain HSE related ISO certifications.
Responsibilities:
• Support HSE Personnel
• Conduct environmental and safety inspections and audits, including but not limited to: air emissions, hazardous waste, universal waste, storm water, wastewater, first aid, PPE, daily walk-throughs, etc.
• Manage and file records and documentation specific to Health, Safety and Environmental, including MSDS
• Create and revise HSE communications, work instructions and procedures
• Update HSE documentation (e.g., risk assessment, impact analysis, etc.)
• Participate in HSE Workgroup (CIP)
• Update KPI documentation (accidents and incidents, etc.)
• Conduct research to support HSE (supplies, PPE, etc.)
• Assist in the implementation and auditing of the HSE Control Plan
• Assist in the development and coordination of the facility’s waste management and recycling programs
• Conduct TOP Safety Observations
• Maintain record-keeping of TOP Safety Observation Cards
• Conduct shipments of hazardous waste
• Conduct HSE Training
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives and implementation of policies and procedures in an automotive or similar manufacturing environment
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or similar is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Certification (initially and annually)
• DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification (initially and every 3 years)
• Wastewater License – Physical/Chemical Grade “D” issued by SC Dept. of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (SC LLR)

• Ability to learn the overall processes to each department

• Occasional travel to other US facilities
