PROGRAM LEADERSHIP OPEN POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Title: Riverwest Early Education Center (EEC) and Youth Development (YD) Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Earnings: $54 - $60K per year based on experience and education

Join the team to increase our impact as we head into our 118th year of service! We seek an innovative, experienced leader for our 5-star accredited early childhood education programs for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. Applicable standards include Department of Children and Families (DCF), Early Head Start/Head Start (HS), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and YoungStar. This is a full-time, year-round position eligible for benefits. Main Job Responsibilities
Program. Ensure programs are high quality, innovative, and relevant
Compliance. Ensure programs meet all applicable standards
Leadership. Support staff to reach their greatest potential
Finance. Create and implement budget and meet financial objectives
Partnership/Collaboration. Leverage resources to provide the best participant experience
Requirements
- Must meet state licensing, YoungStar, EHS/HS, and NAEYC requirements
- At least three years’ supervisory/management experience
- At least two years’ experience as a EEC teacher
- Proven knowledge of early childhood development and familiarity with social emotional learning and trauma informed care
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships. Cultural competency. Respect for diversity of all types.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills; extremely detail oriented
- High proficiency in standard office software, especially Excel, and databases
- Highly preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in ECE, experience with Head Start and NAEYC
- Experience working with urban youth and families
- The physical requirements are the ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and to move quickly in order to safely evacuate children within certain time limits
- Must be at least 23 years’ old with a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and sufficient insurance limits as per COA policy ($50K/$100K/$50K).
The work environment is an active environment with urban youth and families in a variety of settings. This requires the ability to respond quickly to changing situations and be able to move around the COA site as needed. This position also requires evening and weekend work.
