Primary Responsibilities:
- Build a high-quality professional development program for community practitionersDevelop partnerships with social service, medical, non-profit and governmental agencies to recruit into BSW and eventually MSW program; special attention will be given to agencies/organizations with financial incentives for staff members returning to schoolDevelop partnerships with local community/technical colleges to allow for students' seamless transition from external institutions to MMU for completion of a four-year BSW degree, with the option of continuing for an additional year to earn an MSWSupport BSW curriculum development and revision and lead MSW curriculum development and revisionServe on faculty assembly and All-University committeesProvide service to the institution and the communityEngage in ongoing scholarship and professional activity (research, publications, presentations)Provide guidance for academic advising of studentsFacilitate faculty hiresFacilitate and monitor faculty course schedulingPerform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Previous teaching in an undergraduate-level or graduate-level Social Work Program; other relevant experience may be consideredExperience in administration of Social Work Programming preferredStrong working knowledge and understanding of established NASW professional code of ethics and best practicesOutstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills Proven ability to work with diverse groupsAbility to work collaboratively as a member of professional and community groupsAbility and/or experience to create new program Experience with accreditation of professional academic programs Ability to recruit and retain graduate students and adjunct faculty
Qualifications:
- MSW required from CSWE accredited institution; PhD/DSW preferred from CSWE accredited institutionMinimum two years' teaching experience requiredMinimum two years of practice experience at the MSW levelTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary responsibility satisfactorily.
