Summary of Major Function
A Family Birth Services educator may be a nurse, health professional, or individuals who assesses,
develops, presents/facilities, and evaluates Family Birth Services education classes. The Educator is
flexible with hours and schedule to accommodate schedule classes including weekends. Educators must
be familiar with using audio/visual equipment. The educator is current with information taught and has an
understanding of age-specific learning principles. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent
CERTIFICATION: Certification with ASPO or ICEA or nationally recognized organization (Childbirth
Education Only). Certification as a CPR instructor (CPR instructors only). Maintains certification /Training
by completing required education/service from the organization through which he/she was originally
certified.
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrates excellent organizational skills. Able to manage time work independently.
Recognizes the importance of public relations.
Hourly rate: $45.77
