Form of workOperates eddy current test equipment, orbital welder, and post weld heat treatment unit on stainless and nickel alloy tubing to nondestructive specifications by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews test orders to determine type of test requested, test procedures to follow, and tubing acceptability criteria.
Determines test equipment settings according to type of material, outside diameter, wall thickness, distance from test equipment, and related variables.
Calibrates eddy current unit to reference standard.
Sets up equipment to perform tests, and conducts tests on parts, following procedures established for specified tests performed.
Removes defective sections from the tube coil.
Prepares and aligns tube ends for orbital welding.
Sets up orbital welding unit using saved program for mateial grade, outside diameter, and wall thickness.
Orbital welds tube ends and inspects to work instruction.
Sets up post weld heat treatment equipment and performs process as required.
Performs activities of Reeler Operator as required.
