Salary: $31.00 -$36.00 hourly

Over the course of 125 years, MNC has provided services essential to the improvement of the lives of San Francisco’s communities. Today, we have 14 campuses which are enhancing the lives of low-income seniors, youth, and families.


The ECE Program Coordinatorwill primarily be responsible for coordinating various day-to-day operations in the Early Care & Education program. Will partner with Director of Early Care & Education and Associate Director of ECE to support with the development and implementation of program goals and objectives ensuring continuous quality improvement.


Program Coordination

  • In partnership with the COO and Early Care & Education Director ensures that all Early Care & Education program requirements, e.g., programmatic and funding terms and conditions applicable to California Department of Education (CDE) Title 5 and Department of Early Childhood (DEC) regulations are implemented effectively and in compliance with deadlines.
  • Additionally, Head Start Program Performance Standards, Head Start Act and Federal Uniform Guidance Regulations, are implemented effectively in compliance with program goals and objectives while meeting deadlines and project markers.
  • Assist with new ECE program initiatives by tracking projects and specific budget items, preparing documents, supporting with PowerPoint presentations, coordinating meetings.
  • Participates in the coordinating and planning, oversight, and participation in CDE/CDSS and HS/EHS and annual self-assessments and continuous quality improvement.
  • Assists with oversight and participation in Head Start/Early Head Start federal reviews, CDE/CDSS reviews and any other funder compliance visits.
  • In partnership with Service Area Managers reviews and updates program policies and procedures as needed and required, moving the revised policies and procedures through the process of approval from the Parent Policy Council and the MNC Inspiring Success Board of Directors.

 

Technical Support

  • Provides information and technical assistance with onboarding and tracking new employees’ onboarding process.
  • Assists with the preparation and submission of licensing applications. Ensures licenses are updated and fees paid accordingly annually.
  • Participates in strategic planning, researching evidence-based practices to deliver cutting edge high quality early care and Education Programming.
  • Collaborates with Service Area Managers to plan and coordinate pre-service, staff in-service, taking in consideration the identified trends from monitoring reports and recommendations from the annual self-assessment, CLASS, ECERS, ITERS, DRDP and any other assessment tools.


Program Development/Implementation

  • Track program outcomes and develop strategies to ensure grant deliverables are being met.
  • Keep up to date on and proactively respond to changes in city, county, state, and federal quality standards.
  • Support the fee-for-service delivery model, expanding services to reach mixed-income children and their families.
  • In collaboration with the Associate Director of ECE, collect and compile information for the annual CDE Agency Annual Report, Head Start/Early Head Start Program Information Report and annual audit.

  • Maintain personal safety, use personal protection equipment (PPE) and follow organization’s policies.
  • Report all and any safety issues, accidents or injuries to your manager as a matter of priority.

  • Partner with supervisor when necessary to address department issues or concerns.


Qualifications

  • AA degree in related field required, Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Early Childhood Education, Public Administration, Educational Leadership
  • 2+ years experience of program coordinating or teaching experience
  • 2+ years community-based experience in a setting working with families and community organizations who have experienced poverty, crisis, trauma, and other adverse events. Curricular and instructional leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead high quality professional development, and coach teachers and leaders. Demonstrated effective teaching and training with culturally diverse teaching teams (familiar with multicultural and equity classroom practices and dual language models).
  • Working knowledge and experience with California Title V contracts, the Department of Education, the Department of Early Care, and the Office of Head Start.
  • Certified as CLASS reliable preferred.
  •  Fluent in English.

 

Requirement

  • Current Physical Health Screening (every 2 years thereafter)
  • Fingerprinting Clearance (DOJ/FBI)
  • Current Immunizations (TB, Influenza, MMR, Pertussis) (must be kept current)
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate (every 2 years thereafter) or willing to get.
  • Valid State of California Driver’s License (current auto insurance and a clean driving record.)

  • Independent thinker, possess excellent customer service skills, professional attitude, a high level of personal integrity, maturity, and business judgment required.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize task, meet deadlines, able to do presentations and to maintain confident information. Strong analytical skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be a well-organized professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to remain tactful under pressure and present a professional demeanor and communication style with co-workers in a multicultural setting at all times.
