Family Child Education is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Education professional interested in making a difference in the lives of young children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. As one of our dynamic and experienced site leaders, you will ensure your program provides hands-on, developmentally appropriate educational activities, enriched and inviting indoor and outdoor classroom environments, and lead your team of child development professionals to create a positive EARLY LEARNING experience for children and their families.
POSITION DETAILS:
SALARY:$26.15-$31.74 per hour
- Salary based on education, child development permit, and experience
- Candidates with a valid CA Teacher Permit are placed on a higher pay scale (an additional 5% which is reflected in the pay range above)

HOURS: 35-40 hours per week, 12 months per year
- Must be available to work between the hours of 7:15am-5:30pm, Monday - Friday and during school break weeks. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the program.
- Programs are open year-round.
- Hours, schedules, and locations are subject to change when school is not in session based on the needs of the program and department.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development required. Master’s degree preferred. Valid CA Master Teacher Permit desired. (Required for funded programs).
- 3-5 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old in infant, toddler or preschool EARLY LEARNING or group child care program.
- Working knowledge or the ability to learn District adopted software: Google suite software, Google Classroom, Google Hangout and/or Zoom, etc.
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam.
- Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provide effective classroom management in a co-teaching environment to create a thriving learning environment for children of all abilities
- Responsible for ongoing development, implementation, evaluation and oversight of the child-centered, play-based curriculum for all children
- Knowledge or understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practices, PITC, Preschool Learning Foundations, Desired Results Developmental Profile, Teaching Pyramid and Inclusive practices preferred.
- Ability to lead and mentor Associate Teachers and Teacher Aides in the development of classroom plans and goals.
- Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interaction and practicing good health habits.
- Create exciting and enriched environments connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences.
- Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player.
- Communicate regularly with parents to support, guide, and share in their child’s development.
- Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other.
