Position Summary:
Children’s Services of Roxbury (CSR) and the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) are partnering to implement a new SAMHSA funded program, Boston’s Children’s Mental Health Initiative (CMHI), focusing on Early Childhood Mental Health of infants and toddlers (birth to 48 months) who are involved with the state child welfare system. This grant is funded for 4 years pending annual renewal from SAMHSA.
The Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Supervisorwill promote family-centered, culturally competent, supportive care for children with behavioral health needs and their families. Applicants should have experience with and commitment to interdisciplinary care, and strong assessment skills in infant/toddler Mental Health, including assessment of parent-child relationship and natural supports. Attention to detail, timely documentation submission and ability to lead, empower and the ability to be creative in an ever-changing work environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervision of direct ECMH staff, weekly individual, and group sessions
- Participate in all CMHI and BHD collaborative meetings
- Collaborate and participate in partnership meetings with the Department of Children and Families and Northeastern University
- Encourage staff participation in BAYCSEW meetings/activities
- In partnership with CMHI leadership team, plan, organize and implement ECMH community activities
- Review and approve of all documentation completed by the ECMH staff (progress notes, assessments, care plans, discharges)
- Ensure accurate data entry in the electronic health record, NOMs/SPARs
- Point of contact for referrals in and out of program and case assignment
- Create and maintain record keeping system for all CMHI needs
- Run quarterly aggregate data reports (assessments, referrals, etc.)
- Identify training courses for staff for professional development
- Approve staff timecards
- Monitor and oversee day-to-day ECMH operations.
- Contribute to organizational operations by performing other pertinent duties as required.
Education/Required Skills and Experience:
- Master’s Degree or higher in social work, psychology, or related field (LCSW/LMHC/LICSW preferred).
- Cultural and linguistic diversity is highly preferred.
- Academic and professional training in child development and Early Childhood Mental Health, including trauma focused treatment interventions for ages 0-48 months.
- Excellent interpersonal and interagency partnering skills
- Schedule flexibility
- Familiarity with Boston neighborhoods
- Good computer/Internet skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Must not have any disciplinary actions against license;
- Must provide three references (at least two from a comparable professional setting); and
- Must have experience in behavioral health leadership in community-based settings
