Summary
Early Childhood Options is hiring an Early Childhood Education and Career Coordinator. This key position is responsible for administering a variety of professional development coaching and technical assistance to teachers within community based Early Childhood programs. This Coordinator will work closely with Quality Improvement Manager to ensure alignment of quality improvement initiatives, including quality ratings.
An effective Early Childhood Education and Career Coordinator must be able to build relationships with program staff based on mutual respect, demonstrate effective communication skills, practice conflict resolution skills, have an on-going commitment to learning, possess good observation skills, and model best practices working with young children.

Duties

Assist administrators and teachers with management of professional development services, program policies and procedures to meet goals and outcomes, including production and distribution of training calendars and other deliverables.
Assist administrators and teachers to prepare for quality assessments, including Coaching to the Colorado Shines rating, and CLASS tool observations
Provide classroom and program coaching to support continuous quality improvement.
Creates and communicates Menu of Quality Services to sites on a continual basis.Informs teachers of upcoming trainings through emails, Looms, etc.
Coordinates Teacher Promise program.
Coordinates with Director of Operations on training stipends and Teacher Promise stipends.
Assist Early/Head Start teachers with developing PD plans. Meet with each Early/Head Start teacher twice a year to update PD plans.
Coordinate with HS data tracker on Early/Head Start teacher qualifications.
Ensure that Developmental Screens (Ages and Stages- ASQ) are done with fidelity and used for the purpose of which the tool was designed.
Implement practice based coaching strategy.
Coordinate SEAL and CCHL liaison programming with all participating centers.
Coordinate with ECMHC to provide Pyramid training.
Support classroom teachers with Pyramid strategies and Pyramid coaching including the administration of TPOT and TPITOS assessments.
Work cooperatively with administrators, teachers, co-workers and other Early Childhood professionals in the community.
Attend regularly scheduled meetings with other coaches, community partners, and professional development technical assistance staff.
Participate in local, regional and national training as appropriate and as funding allows, including but not limited to Coaching to the Rating, and Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
AA or BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Early Childhood Special Education or a related field.
Director Certification from the Colorado Department of Human Services, or the ability to become Director qualified within a mutually agreed upon timeline.
Minimum of a Level IV Credential from the Colorado Office of Early Childhood Professional Development.
Adult Learner class or the ability to complete the course within a mutually agreed upon timeline.
Successfully pass required background checks.
A minimum of 2 years working with young children.
Knowledge and education regarding developmentally appropriate practices.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, competent interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate using technology, develop reports and track data.
Ability to travel to appointments, meetings, and training sessions which may require an overnight stay.


Nice To Haves
Administrative experience in a licensed child care or preschool setting.
Experience in conducting assessments.
Knowledge of program quality rating scales.
Experience and/or education in adult learning.
Knowledge of the content in Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five
