Job Description
This role will help provide educational support through direct or team teaching services; consultation with preschool teachers, parents and service providers. This is a 9 month position but we pay for 12 months!
Qualifications:
- Shall possess the necessary license required by the Colorado Department of Education or be endorsed in the appropriate areas accepted by the Colorado Department of Education in lieu of such license.
- Completion of a program or degree in Early Childhood Special Education
- Post-graduate training in Early Childhood Special Education preferred.
- Have a field-based experience, practicum, and/or student-teaching
Skills, Experience, Other Requirements:
- Determine student needs for instruction through use of appropriate diagnostic assessment procedures and observation.
- Design, develop and implement learning activities to meet the needs of students in the program.
- Coordinate instruction with general and Special Education staff in order to provide students with effective instruction.
- Maintain all records required by the BOCES and Colorado Department of Education.
- Improve professional qualifications and effectiveness by participating in all available staff development activities offered through the BOCES.
- Maintain regular communication through home visits, reports and meetings to enable families to participate in the enhancement of their child's progress.
- Participate in meetings, screenings, etc. as assigned.
