Job Description
The Drafter II works under the close supervision of the Engineering Manager preparing technical and mechanical drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a wide variety of machinery and mechanical devices and the manufacture of equipment. May participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts. Determine design elements, such and the numbers and kinds of fasteners needed to assemble the machine. Perform a modeling, drafting or Engineering Change Order process with minimum errors.
Responsibilities
- Prepare technical drawings and resolve associated mechanical and fabrication problems
- May participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts
- Determine design elements, such as the numbers and kinds of fasteners needed to assemble the machine
- Perform a modeling, drafting, or Engineering Change Order (ECO) process with minimum errors
- Prepare drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a wide variety of machinery and mechanical devices.
- Indicate dimensions, fastening methods, and other requirements on drawings.
- Perform cost analysis based on manufacturing capability and design quality
- High school diploma or Associate's degree in drafting or Completion of a technical school drafting program
- Or 2 years experience using CAD systems preferred
- Or Combination of education and equivalent experience using CAD systems
- Experience in SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or Inventor is a plus
- Knowledge of traditional drafting techniques, and mechanical drafting
- Ability to use tables, calculators and computers
- Proficient in using a computer including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology
- Capable of successfully working on multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadline schedules
- Ability to adhere to ethical principles that reflect the highest standards of organizational and individual behavior
- Possess effective organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, manage competing priorities for multiple tasks and consistently meet all deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and foster cooperative relationships and credibility at all levels of the organization
