Job Overview:
The Downstream Account Manager position is a customer interfacing member of the Cooper sales team, responsible for managing the relationship with major “downstream” accounts on behalf of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Downstream Account Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Overall relationship management of key customers in the refinery and Petrochemical industries
- Building senior-level relationships with customers up to and including C-suite
- Negotiating and implementing major multi-year strategic contracts
- Communicating new Cooper innovations & technological solutions to address customer operational issues
- Developing long-term account plans, including financial forecasts and technology plans
- Travel~50%+ of the time throughout North America
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred; minimum high-school diploma or GED with 10 years sales experience required
- Minimum 7 years of experience in sales origination or other customer-facing role within the downstream compression space.
- Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers
- Strong contractual negotiation experience
- Strong reciprocating engine and compressor experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Commitment to safety, customer service quality and to work in team-oriented environment
