Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Domestic Violence Victim Advocate to join our prosecution team under a grant program. As a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate, you will be the point-person for victims of Domestic Violence cases providing general case/process information and emotional support for victim Court needs. Your role will include reaching out to victims of these types of cases, assess their level of risk and basic needs then assist them in connecting with community based agencies that can assist them directly with these needs.
Duties:
- Reach out to case victims/ survivors of Domestic Violence
- Educate case victims on the system process and their role in it.
-Facilitate a case victims ability to participate in the court case to their level of comfort
-Conduct basic risk and needs assessments
- Connect and Assist survivors in accessing community resources
- Accompany survivors to court hearings
- Collaborate with law enforcement, and other agencies involved in the criminal justice and social service fields relating to addressing the needs of Domestic Violence Victims
- Offer emotional support and guidance to survivors as they navigate the healing process
- Assist in the coordination of the County Domestic-Sexual Violence Coalition
- Assist in system improvement efforts
- Maintain accurate grant data and records
- Assist in the completion of grant reporting requirements
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice or a related field preferred
- Experience working families in crisis situations, preferred
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle conflict situations with sensitivity and professionalism
- Understanding of behavioral health issues related to Domestic Violence

Pay: $18.00 - $21.63 per hour
