Position Requirements:

Good listening and oral communication with clients and fellow training staff regarding a variety of topics including, but not limited to:
- The well-being (both physical and emotional) of dogs in our care.
- Important information regarding the training facility.
- Relaying relevant information from Extreme K-9’s clients to other team members.
- Frequently walk dogs, kennel/yard clean up.
- Ability to learn safe dog handling from beginner to advanced skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively and professionally communicate training concepts to clients.

- Able to take dogs into your home for training (when proficient), providing a safe environment in the home for the canine.
Successful candidates will progress through several developmental stages requiring:
- Demonstration of safe dog handling skills.
- Understanding of basic canine psychology.
- Training of foundational skills in the canine
- Service dog training for military veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
This part-time position is based at our Carbondale, IL facility.
Pay range: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour (depending on progression of skills and training)
