The Division of Forensic Sciences is currently recruiting to fill multiple vacancies for DNA Analyst-Senior level to join their team. These positions will be headquartered at the Milwaukee Crime Laboratory, located at 1578 South 11 th Street, Milwaukee, WI . This position works under general supervision and may work up to 100% remotely after initial training period.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for independently performing technical review of case reports and case records in the DNA Analysis Unit. Senior DNA Analyst Technical Reviewers must continue to develop their professional abilities with continued education and training in the relevant technologies.
Salary Information
The DNA Analyst-Senior classification is in pay schedule 15 and range 03. The starting pay will be between $30.00 - $40.00/hour. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan.
Job Details
This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and is limited to the maximum of 1039 hours in a 12-month period. Limited Term Employees must be a resident of Wisconsin.
This position may be eligible to work remotely up to 100% following an initial training period. Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement.
High speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work.
The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.
A background check, including fingerprints, will be completed on applicants prior to selection.
Qualifications
Must meet the educational requirements of the 2020 Quality Assurance Standards (QAS) of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
In addition to the Education Requirements listed above, minimally qualified candidates will also have training, education, or work experience in all the following areas:
- Experience as forensic DNA analyst, including interpretation and report writing.
- Experience identifying and troubleshooting issues or concerns as they arise, either independently and/or through collaboration, and recommending effective solutions.
- Experience utilizing probabilistic genotyping software in forensic DNA casework.
- Experience working independently or as a member of a multifaceted team required to efficiently manage time and meet strict deadlines.
- Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
