Division Manager - Freight Brokerage Operations

Overview

The Director of the Frate Group’s JA Nationwide transportation brokerage division plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the overall operations, strategy and growth of the business. This position requires a combination of leadership, strategic thinking and operational expertise to ensure the company’s success in the dynamic and competitive transportation industry.

About the Team

The Frate Group is a Transportation and Logistics provider with facilities in Cook, Lake, McHenry and Winnebago counties. We have four operating divisions providing asset based transportation, nationwide brokerage services, warehouse and distribution, and fleet management services. We have over 50 years of experience in the industry and a team of 160 employees. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic plan to increase revenue and profitability of the Freight Brokerage division.
• Oversee day to day operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to industry regulations.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base and market presence.
• Develop, negotiate and maintain strong relationships with carriers, key clients and industry partners.
• Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to make informed decisions.
• Support the TIA (Transportation Intermediaries Association) business practices in contract management and continuing education.
• Monitor and report weekly on key financial metrics.
• Collaborate with various department/divisions to ensure seamless coordination and communication within the Frate Group.
• Assist Sales with leads, quotes and customer service issues.
• Recruit, train and lead a high-performing team. Promote professional development among team members.
• Champion the EOS LMA tools and processes to enhance divisional clarity, focus and discipline.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within the transportation or logistics industry.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, market trends, and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
