ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Works in a freezer environment in extreme cold with negative temperature of 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Retrieves, picks, verifies orders, wrap pallets, manages stock and supplies, and repackages items for distribution.
- Recommends process changes to management, regarding stock and materials, the School Dude System, Newton, Heartland Mosaic, Heartland Edison, and other warehouse related matters.
- Maintains and recommends changes to inventory control systems for materials keeping inventory current and notifies management of any inventory discrepancies using FIFO.
- Ensures that all inventory transactions are properly documented in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Maintains accurate records in Safe Schools and Institute of Children Nutrition.
- Inspects and operates material handling equipment to move or transport items to various locations.
- Properly conducts pre-shift forklift inspection and completes forklift inspection sheet.
- Follows safety procedures and performs proper inspections to meet Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations.
- Receives and verifies inbound stock for accuracy against invoices, BOL, purchase orders, and requisitions,
- Assists with cycle counts, investigates pallet discrepancies, and identifies variances from physical and system counts to management based on cycle counts.
- Performs related duties and other duties as directed.
Diploma or a Trade Certificate of Completion from a Vocational/Technical institution in a closely related area plus two (2) years of relevant work experience; OR four (4) years of directly related work experience. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree is Preferred.

Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master’s Degree=6 years plus required years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Must possess computer skills and have experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of inventory control practices, warehouse systems, and Safe school operations
- Knowledge of the correct method regarding loading/un-loading pallets safely, and securing loads on trucks
- Skilled in operating power-driven equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
- Ability to read and interpret manufacture’s storage instructions
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime with minimal notice
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while following established policies and procedures
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and solve problems
