SUMMARY: Responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting all transportation operations, including department resources, drivers, paraprofessionals, crossing guards, buses, activity vehicles, as well as vehicle maintenance to ensure the timely and safe and efficient transportation of students and staff to and from school and other activities. Learn and maintain a full understanding and operating knowledge of district and department policies and procedures, state and federal regulations relevant to transportation operations and Thompson School District. Provide support and customer service to department employees, district staff, and community members in reference to routing, scheduling, extra-curricular activities, vehicle maintenance needs, safety requirements, district operations, and parent/guardian requests. Coordinate and uphold the culture of safety and success within the Transportation Department, including high level communication and organizing consistent, safe operations. Work directly with department and district staff to address questions, needs and be a source of knowledge for all transportation operations. Drive daily routes, support all areas of the transportation department and manage an often-changing daily schedule. Responds to district vehicle breakdowns, accidents and other emergency needs during scheduled hours and outside of scheduled department hours for urgent or emergency operations. Manage accident sites independently as needed. Provide any needed support to the department and district in emergency situations.

Starting rate of pay is $21.97 per hour plus benefits. Range 19 - ($21.97- $35.78) - Classified Salary Schedule
