Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a dispatcher / customer service representative. You will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services. This is a vital role within our organization as you will be the primary point of contact for our customers. Part of the job is in the office, part is answering the dispatch phone after hours and on weekends.
Duties -
- Scheduling and dispatching dump truck drivers, work crews, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs
- Relaying information such as work orders or other messages to and from work crews, field inspectors, or supervisors
- Using telephones, two-way radios or text messages to contact employees and personnel
- Speaking with employees, supervisors and customers to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment
- Preparing daily work such as schedules, orders, and deliveries
- Keeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records and other information
- Answer incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat
- Provide accurate and timely information to customers regarding product availability, pricing, and delivery schedules
- Assist customers with order placement, tracking, and pricing
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and ensure timely resolution
- Maintain customer records in our database accurately and efficiently
- Communicate with customers regarding any changes or updates to their orders or deliveries
Qualifications -
- Experience with different types of aggregate products: sand, gravel, topsoil, etc.
- Experience in/knowledge of the trucking industry is preferred
- Previous experience in customer service or a related field is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent phone etiquette and the ability to handle difficult or irate customers with professionalism and empathy
- Proficient in using computer systems and software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes, dispatching, and fleet management

Pay: $19.50 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
