Job Title: Dispatcher

Department: Service

Reports To: Service Manager

Job Overview:

The Dispatcher plays a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating efficient communication between various teams, drivers, and field personnel. The primary responsibility is to ensure timely and safe delivery of services, responding to requests, and managing logistics to meet operational objectives. The Dispatcher will be responsible for handling incoming calls, monitoring routes, and addressing any unforeseen issues that may arise during the course of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispatch Operations:

- Receive and prioritize incoming calls from clients, customers, and field personnel.

- Coordinate and dispatch vehicles, equipment, or personnel to designated locations based on established schedules and priorities.

- Monitor field activities and adjust schedules to respond to changing circumstances.

2. Communication:

- Maintain constant communication with drivers, field personnel, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations.

- Provide timely and accurate information to customers regarding service schedules, delays, or other relevant details.

3. Record Keeping:

- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including calls, schedules, and responses.

- Generate reports on performance metrics, incidents, and other relevant data as required.

4. Problem Resolution:

- Address and resolve operational issues, delays, and emergencies in real-time.

- Collaborate with team members to develop effective solutions to challenges that may impact service delivery.

5. Routing and Logistics:

- Plan and optimize routes to ensure efficiency and on-time delivery.

- Utilize GPS and tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations and provide guidance to drivers.

6. Customer Service:

- Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

- Communicate professionally with clients and customers to build positive relationships.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, transportation, or a related field is a plus.

- Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of dispatch operations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficient in using dispatch software, GPS, and other relevant technology.

- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Knowledge of local geography and traffic patterns.

Working Conditions:

- The job may require working in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to stress and time-sensitive situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.70 - $18.63 per hour
