Who We Are
Supporting the Disney Advertising Sales (DAS) organization, the Audience Modeling and Data Science team are subject matter experts in each of the following areas:
- Creating and optimizing audience classification models that enable us to predict and target strategic audience attributes, including brand affinity, purchase behavior, and psychographics
- Integrating a broad suite of complex datasets, from digital event logs to sporting event metadata, into carefully curated and reusable data models
- Publishing audience attributes across an array of ad-serving endpoints
- Working cross-functionally to ensure our data product is aligned with the goals of each strategic sales vertical and the business as a whole
A Day in the Life
As an intern in this role you would:
- Develop knowledge of the advertising sales industry and resulting datasets that DAS utilizes to develop predictive models and analytical products
- Analyze complex data sets representing millions of users to understand user behavior and identify key characteristics of groups of users to better define audience segments
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support various projects across the AMDS team
- Assist in documenting data models, processes, and other initiatives as specified by leadership
- Collaborate with full-time analysts to gain perspective on different aspects of day-to-day projects and responsibilities
What we are looking for...
- Course or project-based experience using analytical software to manipulate data (R, Python, SQL, MatLab, SAS, etc.) and/or coursework focused on development in Java, C++ or other programming languages
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concept
- Highly engaged, innovative thinker who is self-motivated and eager to learn
Required Education
- Currently in the process of obtaining a master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related quantitative field.
The pay rate for this internship in Santa Monica, CA is $45.00 per hour.
Internship Eligibility
- At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney Professional Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program, concurrent to this internship
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Program Dates: The length of this internship is 10-12 weeks, and approximate dates are May/June - August/September 2023. Interns will work ~40 hours per week and need to provide full availability throughout the internship.
Housing & Transportation: This internship will be located in Santa Monica, CA and interns must be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation to and from work.
