Huntington Culinary, Inc. is seeking a full or part-time Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant to fill a position at our client location in San Dimas, CA. The qualified candidate will be responsible for working in a team environment to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly. The position requires dishwashing and assistance around the kitchen with various food prep tasks (setting up salad bar, cutting/prepping food for chef manager as needed). A positive attitude and friendly demeanor is needed to greet client staff members during daily lunch service. We are willing to train.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a Live Scan background check including the Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index.
This job is an hourly position, Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. The pay rate range is $17-18/hour.
Job Qualifications:
· A Food Handler Safety card is required.
· At least one year of experience working in a kitchen environment. Experience cooking in institutional or restaurant food service, including demonstrated techniques of using standardized recipes and sanitary food handling preferred.
· A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
· Strong culinary skills, team mentality, and punctuality
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Washes all wares including pots, plans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dishwashers.
- Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
- Stocks serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
- Cleans trash receptacles with water or steam.
- Moves dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work area by hand or using hand trucks.
- May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
- Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.
- Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
- Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods walking or standing.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 60 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently.
- Must frequently immerse hands in water.
- Must be able to work in a hot and damp environment

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
