The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Disability Determination Services (DDS) Bureau of the Disability Employment and Transitions Division (DETD).

The Disability Determination Services Bureau's mission is to balance protecting the Social Security Act (SSA) trust funds with issuing correct disability decisions for Montanans with disabilities. This position supervises Disability Claims Examiners and Disability Claims Technicians that carry out the adjudicative and claims process for the Social Security Administration disability program to ensure the program operates within federal rules and regulations. Responsibilities include effective and proactive management of an adjudicative team, ability to use data and reporting tools effectively, documentation, and a high level of analytical capabilities and strategic planning. This position supervises approximately nine employees and reports to the Disability Determination Services Bureau Chief. 

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.

      Ability to research, interpret, and implement federal and state rules, regulations, policy, and business procedures, using appropriate decision-making to use information to increase engagement.

       Meet minimum qualifications:

       Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

       One year of supervisory experience.

       Experience performing statistical analysis and using Excel is preferred.

       Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
