Reporting to the Assistant Dean for External Relations and Career Management, this position
directs and manages the Stuart School of Business Career Management Center ( CMC ) as it
assists all students, alumni, faculty, and employer clients in the development of career
education, career identification and search, and pursuit of employment opportunities
commensurate with formal academic pursuits. Areas of responsibility include: career-related
programming, employer relations, career outcomes analysis and reporting, current student
career advising and authorizations, and alumni career support. This position is responsible for
supporting the Assistant Dean in designing, implementing, and maintaining policies and
processes for the Stuart CMC .
COMMUNICATIONS
Effective, courteous, and responsive communications skills (oral, written,
presentation) required to interact with internal and external stakeholders at a variety of levels,
including C-suite executives. Experience delivering presentations to a variety of audiences
required. Ability to effectively and respectfully represent Stuart at industry events and special
occasions that affect the image and reputation of the Illinois Tech Stuart School of Business andgive presentations to various stakeholders is required. Closely coordinates communication with
the dean, assistant dean, program directors, Elevate, and faculty from Stuart and across Illinois Tech to ensure
that the CMC is meeting the needs of the academic programs both at Stuart and at the broader
university.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive and productive
relationships with internal and external stakeholders required. Ability to connect and build
effective advising relationships with a diverse, primarily international student population
essential. Must maintain professional and respectful demeanor at all times. Must set high
standards for service and support in career advising and employer relations. Must be able to
take ownership of assigned projects.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Education & Experience: Master’s degree in business, HR, higher education administration,
college student personnel, or related field required. Requires minimum 7 years of experience in
Career Management, advising, coaching, employer relations, personnel recruitment, or related
field. Experience working with diverse student populations, including adult students, online
students and international students required. Previous teaching or facilitation experience
strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience with cross-cultural communication strongly
preferred.

Prior experience with NACElink or other career services platforms.

particularly those who could hire Stuart graduates.
Demonstrated public relations/marketing abilities to be used on behalf of the business
school as a whole and the Career Management office specifically
SUPERVISION & BUDGET AUTHORITY
Supervisory & Budget Authority: May supervise student assistants and interns. No budget
responsibility, but may be responsible for managing expenses related to some programs,
events, or activities. Develops short and long range operating plans, programs and services,
personnel, technology/other equipment, and space. Provides guidance and leadership to staff,
including training (as needed), staff evaluation (includes merit consideration), professional
development, and related personnel matters.
