GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for the organization, implementation, and supervision of daily camp activities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum 19 years of age with one year college or two years experience in youth related field preferred. Some experience supervising and training staff preferred. Must have good problem solving and organizational skills. Must be dependable and flexible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Train, supervise and evaluate staff.
- Conduct staff meetings.
- Develop daily and weekly lessons plans.
- Participate/engage in all activities and provide demonstrations.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Respond to concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
- Distribute and maintain an inventory of supplies.
- Demonstrate current and accurate trends related to sports and games.
- Organize program special events and related activities.
- Responsible for daily attendance records.
- Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
- Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
- Organize, live, demonstrate, and implement the Character Counts program for coaches and parents.
- Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.
Must have and maintain: CPR/AED certified or obtained within one (1) year of employment. Be a Mandated Reporter for the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to: frequently move about the fields and on uneven ground and position ones self to perform maintenance and setup of the fields with the ability to grasp items and occasionally move items such as sports equipment, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs. and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Must be able to: be exposed to all types of weather conditions, biting and stinging bugs and insects, dirt, and exposed to chalk and chemicals on the field.
SALARY
$17.00 per hour
HOURS
7:15 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Mondays thru Friday (May 20, 2024 thru August 8, 2024)
