We are inviting applications for Director, Scientific Communication Strategy - Global Oncology Marketingwhich is a critical role in the Global Oncology Marketing Team reporting to the Executive Director – Portfolio Promotional Strategy. The candidate will play an important role in shaping strategies to communicate our oncology scientific data to differentiate our brands and provide an exceptional customer experience. It will also involve extensive collaboration across our Research & Development Division , Global comms and senior leadership and calls for astute communication and management skills.     

Minimum Education required:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Master's degree (Science) preferred.

Required experience and skills:

  • Minimum 7 years combined marketing, sales, market access & pricing, marketing support or related experiences in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries. (Oncology preferred)

  • Understanding of Oncology healthcare market dynamics around innovation & capabilities, and the science of Oncology.

  • Understanding of healthcare trends and reimbursement and policy issues and their potential impact upon our Company's business opportunities

  • Lead strategy development and execution.

  • Strong scientific acumen/knowledge of the oncology therapeutic area

  • People Leadership

  • Project management

  • Ability to clearly articulate messages/information across the enterprise and to leadership

  • Ability to work within complex organizations and markets and leading sub-teams and influencing without authority.

Responsibilities: 

  • Enable team to prioritize deliverables to meet the growing scientific needs of the Global Oncology organization and set strategy for delivery of these objectives through collaboration with disease, asset and CFT.

  • Leading the prioritization and enterprise strategy for top oncology congresses through the congress steering committee with strong collaboration among the core team

  • Align creative and agenda around a clear story for our TIER 1 data at WWCB (ASCO/ESMO) ​.  Partnering with US or EU to build in regional focus and alignment to Oncology Strategy Portfolio/New Customer scientific strategy. ​

  • Innovate and anticipate new scientific needs across the portfolio, Molecular Attributes, digital solutions across tumor areas, effective advances in Scientific Communications (pod casts etc.).

  • Serve as the core contact point and identify market research needs and integrate the research questions with research being done across tumor and asset teams.

  • Ensure that we have a comprehensive view of the competitive landscape across all major disease areas that could have implications on our scientific narrative.

  • Serve as core or extended team member in the squads across Global Oncology to collaborate on strategy for Scientific Communication across priority areas.

  • Work closely with Global disease and asset leads to understand Scientific Communication requirements across disease areas to leverage pan-tumor needs.

  • Work closely with Global Comms and Invertor relation teams for consistent messaging of scientific strategy across all communication points.

  • Work closely with Regional/Market Collaboration Point (congress & scientific information) to collect inputs and disseminate information relating to congress and scientific strategy.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.  This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. Under New York State, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$181,600.00 - $285,800.00
