The Senior Director, Growth and Partnerships, Advanced Therapies Supply Chain will have overall accountability for capacity expansion programs within the Advanced Therapies Platform for Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) shaping the “Build” aspects of our product supply. This role will also manage CMO partnerships, evaluate and select CMOs, and oversee the contracting process.

·         Evaluate & Select CMOs and manage CMO partnerships – Sourcing and due diligence of new CMO relationships as part of defining the overall network strategy for Advanced Therapies supply

·         Oversee contracting process (in collaboration with Procurement) – work in partnership with our CMOs and Procurement to develop and execute negotiation and operational strategies for new CMOs; as well as with our Alliance partners.  This includes sourcing decisions, sourcing governance, and development of forums as needed.

·         Tech transfer & qualification – sponsor core tech transfer team to stand up our external manufacturing sites.  This includes escalations, direction, coaching, and executive updates on milestones, roadblocks, and successful milestones. 

·         Commercial readiness & ramp strategy – all activities that ensure commercial readiness for manufacturing and scale up/out of capacity.  This includes PPQ activities, resource readiness, and overall strategy through hyper-care. 

·         Lead ATSC Growth & Partnerships Team – lead a team of talented Virtual Site GMs, including the talent development, coaching, and capabilities assessments and needs as our business evolves to support new technologies.  This includes grooming strong talent and ensuring a robust succession plan.

·         Be part of the ATSC Leadership Team – represent external manufacturing and the G&P on the ATSC LT, providing key input on our network strategy, leadership engagement, and being a strong voice for our external partners and business needs.  Collaboration with VMT functions as well as DPDS, Commercial, PES, and the broader IMSC are key for this role.

Key measurements of success will include meeting short and long-term capacity plans within designated timeframes, achieving CMO performance targets such as delivery/cycle time, supply volume, and minimizing out-of-specifications (OOS) incidents.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent University Degree required
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience and/or business management
  • Experience within Pharmaceutical Cell Therapy, Biologics drug substance, or other similarly regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end Supply Chain considerations including Quality, Technical Operations, Finance, Planning, and/or Procurement
  • Strong influencing skills, with the ability to understand issues from multiple viewpoints.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to escalate issues.
  • 5 years of people leadership experience

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $189,000 to $325,335.
