Job Description
Responsibilities
- Recruit, manage & develop a team of Vehicle engineers across multiple disciplines (mechanical, structural, dynamics, thermal, etc.)
- Direct ownership of both current and future vehicles encompassing design, analysis, build, test & integration aspects
- Own strategic short-term decisions for Vehicle Engineering and ensure they deliver the best possible business outcome
- Help create and influence future product design with Business Development and at the Executive level
- Work with cross-discipline engineering teams (manufacturing, propulsion, avionics, etc.), to deliver high quality builds & vehicles
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in aerospace, mechanical or engineering related field
- 9+ years of direct experience with in-space vehicle-level design, trades & analysis
- 7+ years of experience building & leading hardware engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience with direct technical involvement in the engineering life-cycle of a product (design, build, test & integration)
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, both metallic and composites
- Solid experience defining and setting up manufacturing processes for large structures and intricate space-flight assemblies
- Ability to operate in an extremely fast-paced R&D environment as well as detail-oriented Flight production
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience implementing and maintaining Product Lifecycle Management applications and processes
- Proven record of building high performance, high output engineering teams across multiple disciplines (mechanical, structural, mechanisms, dynamics, thermal, etc.)
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
