This role is onsite at least 4 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office!

What you'll do:

  • Document and propose solutions to improve the overall system performance and safety
  • Work closely with the requirements teams to establish a comprehensive safety analysis process between requirements and safety documentation
  • Focus on aspects unique to autonomous vehicle platforms
  • Analyze both system and component level failure modes and ensure accepted safety goals and failure probabilities
  • Work with internal and external partners and vendors to achieve these goals

What we're looking for:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar, ideally with focus on automotive electronics
  • 8+ years of experience in the field of quality control and/or functional safety for vehicle systems
  • Proven competency in creation and maintenance of safety-related documentation for vehicle systems as well as deep understanding of automotive development processes
  • Familiarity with safety analysis methods, items and documents (e.g. HARA, FMEA, FSR)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, understand and mitigate failure modes of autonomous systems
  • Proficiency in usage of requirements tools like DOORS, JAMA, and systems analysis tools like Medini
  • Experience with standards and practices such as ISO26262, MISRA-C and AUTOSAR
