What We Need:
Obagi is seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain & Procurement to strategically manage contract manufacturer, assembly, and packaging supplier relationships, optimize cost of goods savings, and drive continuous improvement. This person will report directly to our Vice President of Global Operations and partner across departments with various commercial and operational teams to plan, source, procure, and make all products. The Director of Supply Chain and Procurement will also bring knowledge of how to operate in an FDA regulated environment with prescription dispensed and cosmetic distributed products.
What You’ll Do:
- Actively participate in developing strategies, plans, and tactics to drive best-in-class forecast accuracy and fill rate service levels, cost of goods improvements (packaging, formula, raw materials, conversion), and lean inventory.
- Responsible for managing contract manufacturers for all finished products.
- Participate in the implementation of SOPs and redesign of the forecasting process.
- Manage the end-to-end Supply Chain and procurement process, champion process improvements and transformation initiatives, as needed, to streamline and remove redundancy.
- Identify potential supply risks and implement contingency plans to effectively avoid delivery interruptions.
- Assist with the set-up and coordination of material and product movement across supply network, domestically and internationally.
- Craft, strategize, and co-lead negotiation efforts for major manufacturing and supply agreements along-side or with support from VP Global Operations.
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, and ensure any conflicts are resolved through effective problem solving and skilled negotiation to achieve mutual beneficial solutions.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Upstream Innovation and New Products to proactively identify emerging ingredients and technologies or gaps in the product portfolio and seek new potential contract manufacturers or suppliers to fulfill unmet needs.
- Partner directly with the Director of Operations to review and manage inventory, reporting, and analysis of key metrics.
- Analyze spend patterns/trends, identify opportunities to reduce cost, and utilize data analytics to track, measure, evaluate supplier performance, and recommend solutions and/or changes.
- Accurately forecast Supply Chain costs and manage adherence to monthly/quarterly budgets.
What You’ll Need:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; a focus in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar related fields strongly preferred.
- At least 10+ years of direct leadership and Supply Chain/Procurement experience. Experience with prescription Rx and Pharmaceutical products highly preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of cosmetics, drug/OTC, prescription Rx and wellness products and industry-specific regulatory requirements
- Strong knowledge of global Supply Chains, particularly manufacturing and warehousing in Europe and Asia Pacific.
- Strong qualitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills with demonstrated use of analysis and metrics to drive continuous improvement and decision making.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization/time management skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable operating in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; someone who thrives in ambiguity and adapts quickly.
- Proficiency in Oracle, NetSuite, and warehouse management systems as well as Tableau and/or Business Intelligence reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other technologies.
- Flexibility with working with multiple time zones.
- Possess an energetic, positive attitude that encourages a team and supports the growth and professional development of others.
