HM Hospitality Consultants has a client with a fantastic opportunity for a Director of Supply Chain Operations to join their team. HM Hospitality Consultants are not a recruiting company, we are a HR consulting company.
Our Client is looking for a highly skilled and confident professional with a proven track record in running Supply Chain Operations. As a Director of Supply Chain Operations, you will oversee all strategic planning initiatives, collaborate with cross functional teams and develop comprehensive strategies to drive on-time deliveries, and provide support for tactical and functional execution of business strategies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all stages of production from product development through the complete manufacturing process.
- Work directly with manufacturers on new development and production of components and finished goods, negotiating price, and deliveries.
- Manage production, technical, and quality control teams.
- Manage vendor relationships.
- Develop annual plans with prioritization and resourcing.
- Act as the liaison with the Product Development team for new product induction and develop sourcing strategies in support for the organization.
- Establish components and allocate production orders to various factories worldwide.
- Negotiate factory capacities and costings.
- Develop, issue and manage Request for Proposal (RFP) or bid process for sourcing goods and services to achieve savings based on targeted specifications.
- Counter source components when needed to adjust according to our costing structure and stay within the quality and design concept.
- Set quality standards.
- Set up new factories to comply with each customer’s requirements.
- Maintain final cost sheets achieving the standard gross margin.
- Reduce air shipments, improve internal controls to maintain on-time production flow on-time and meet to market timelines.
- Identify and manage risk within the Supply Chain.
- 3PL management as required to ensure on-time receiving of inbound shipments.
- 3PL management as required to ensure customer’s on-time delivery.
- Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning, and other optimizations in order to grow the business.
- Understand customers’ needs, service those needs, and maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer’s key personnel involved in or directly relevant to Supply Chain activities.
- Manage / coordinate the sales and operations planning process including supply / demand forecasting, inventory management, and on time delivery.
- Meet with and work directly with customer base to plan, project, and secure new orders.
- Establish key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals,
- Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the personnel, operations and budget of an organization’s Supply Chain.
- Direct the hiring, training, supervision, mentoring, and performance evaluations of Supply Chain staff.
- Direct, coordinate, assign, monitor and review the work of individuals engaged in Supply Chain related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7 to 10 years in contract manufacturing or personal care manufacturing management required, including supervisory experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain or materials management
- Excellent Microsoft Office Skills and advanced Excel skills are necessary.
- ERP Knowledge (NetSuite preferred)
- Ability to translate strategic vision to actionable performance.
- Results oriented, resourceful and self-motivated, independent, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently.
- Strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and experienced in follow through and completion of projects.
- Strong time management skills.
