FORT produces products for safe and secure autonomous mobile robots (AMR), which are sold to various vertical industries. We are looking for a skilled Director of Supply Chain to join our team with the primary mission of implementing, developing, and directing all functions within the Supply Chain for FORT.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the activities of all functions involved in the supply chain, from planning, sourcing, production, logistics, and returns.
- Set up and maintain company supply chain processes and SOPs.
- Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain and ensure quality; implement subsequent changes to processes continuously.
- Establish annual goals and objectives in coordination with senior leadership and corporate objectives.
- Establish benchmarks, collect and analyze supply chain data, and own the reporting and metrics around the company's supply chain performance to drive improvements.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with global supply chain partners, government, and regulatory agencies (where applicable).
- Manage contract manufacturers and key vendors, inbound and outbound logistics, and supplier on-time delivery (OTD) performance.
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
- Work with company CMs to drive procurement plans for materials, components, and spare parts; manage all product Build of Materials (BOMs) in conjunction with the engineering department.
- Participate and lead negotiation efforts for significant contracts with vendors to obtain optimal pricing, profitability, and supply chain performance.
- Coordinate with other company departments (sales, customer services, operations, finance, HR, and engineering) to reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction and overall business performance.
- Drive continuous improvement, Kaizen/lean projects, and productivity to drive savings and efficiency across the organization.
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide a good supply chain.
- Participate in designing and implementing a new ERP system and optimizing its use.
- Coordinate with engineering and oversee all aspects of multiple projects, including the requirement, project schedule, and supply availability, to ensure products are optimized for cost, supply chain flexibility, and efficiency.
- Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on the availability and cost of supplies and materials.
Education & Experience:
- BS Degree in engineering, finance, or business administration, with a Masters or MBA preferred. ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD) are a plus.
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in purchasing, logistics, project management, production, or materials management roles.
- 5-10 years of direct management experience in the electronics, robotics industry, or a similar regulated environment.
- Must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution.
- Proven leadership skills in building and managing large teams with a history of success.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills are required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in working concurrently in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team and independently.
