Overview: Embrace New Networks with Open Banking
With Mastercard Open Banking, we empower people and businesses to access accounts securely and conveniently for enabling new financial services and providing payment choice. This unlocks opportunities to extend financial access and inclusion with account opening, lending, payments, and Open Banking for business.
The Director of Product, Open Banking Payments - Strategic Initiatives will lead the definition of our strategy around key areas of focus for enabling Account-to-Account Payments and coordinate the required program guides, schemes and operating models to execute franchise strategy for payment and account opening use cases. Another key area of focus is engagement across our International Open Banking product team to align strategy and roadmap to fit global objectives.
Responsibilities
• Define Mastercard's standards and program model for enabling Open Banking payments.
• Engage with Mastercard cross-functional teams to socialize the vision, strategy for Open Banking and program model in key focus areas while identifying ways centralize and channel resources to execute. Represent the interests of Open Banking while driving thought leadership to other business partners and bringing opportunities for influence back to the Open Banking team.
• Be the expert in payment ecosystems key use cases and the impact of market trends on A2A payments for Mastercard Open Banking.
• Drive execution of new revenue opportunities to deliver success for clients and Mastercard.
• Inform Mastercard Open Banking product development roadmap and strategy for scale, incorporating insights from industry trends.
• Execute the Franchise frameworks to accelerate time to revenue and distribution models of key capabilities for Open Banking, Payments and Account Opening use cases.
• Create (jointly with regions) partnerships to identify synergies and opportunities for innovation.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful product planning, business case, and scalability for respective initiatives driven from industry engagement while following Mastercard Studio and Gold Standards.
• Maintain a pulse on industry dynamics and competitive moves to operate as a thought leader in industry forums.

• Solid understanding of our clients' top use cases with a key focus on Open Banking, account-to-account payments and industry trends.
• Creative problem-solving that brings in different perspectives connecting client needs with Mastercard strategy.
• Deep experience in global payments and/or financial technology with understanding of Open Banking and the regulatory landscape.
• Ability to understand complex technology, interpret requirements and explain it simply - internally and externally.
• Strong ability to execute initiatives in cross-functional teams, driving for excellence in quality and timeliness.
• Emulate and drive the Mastercard Way through behavior, coaching, and employee engagement.
• Strength in connecting people and ideas; ability to operate in a matrix environment and establish effective working relationships across the business and geographies.
• Ability to communicate across teams and levels to represent the customer point of view.
• Effective listener and influencer to create and build strong partnerships and deliver on client needs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Preferred locations in New York or Salt Lake City - open to other locations.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
