Director of Operations (DOO)
New England Cremation Supply founded in 1995 and based in Rochester, NH is a leading manufacturer and supplier of cremation supplies and equipment throughout the Northeast Region. We are looking to add a Director of Operations (DOO) to our growing team, who will report directly to the owner/founder. The DOO will assist the owner in driving the company’s vision, while working to streamline operations, improve production/warehouse/delivery efficiency, maintain and support the current company culture and work to increase sales with existing and new customers.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Oversees production, quality, warehouse, delivery and customer service
· Works closely with Owner and GM to ensure company goals and mission statement are met
· Conducts performance evaluations for 2 key employees, hiring, and disciplinary actions
· Organizes and helps establish company goals, policies and procedures· Works with team to solve customer service issues and daily challenges
· Works to increase production efficiency
· Meets with key suppliers as necessary and key customers on a monthly basis
· Attends local and regional funeral director association annual conventions
· Will become the face of the company
· Mentors and trains key employees and helps in production and with delivery as needed
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of related experience as Director of Operations or General Manager
· Impeccable integrity and ethical standards
· Clean driving record and ability to drive, or learn to drive a large box truck (no CDL required)
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs and is mechanically inclined
· General knowledge of woodworking and use of power tools
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills
· Lives within 30 miles of Rochester, or is willing to relocate to the Rochester area
· Ability to work well and motivate employees, while leading by example
· Willingness to roll up sleeves, learn all aspects of the company (production, warehouse, delivery, sales) and work beyond normal working hours when necessary
· Willingness to learn and adapt to a new Industry, business and company culture
· Ability to work well with suppliers, contractors, landlord and customers
· Must be able to think and act like the owner
· Ability to solve practical problems
· Must be able to work in an office environment, warehouse, production facility, on the road and at customer locations
Base salary: $75,000+
