Come join our team at AMETEK Precitech TMC (PTMC). The Precitech business is headquartered in Keene, NH with global sales and service teams. The team designs and manufactures ultra-precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding which are used to produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components. Our machines produce rotationally symmetric, asymmetric, freeform, and sculpted geometries with form tolerances in the sub-micron range and nanometer surface finishes. The TMC business, located in Peabody, MA, combines state-of-the-art vibration cancellation technology with a commitment to manufacturing. Our products are manufactured in our world-class, 80,000 square foot, manufacturing facility. To manufacture most of our products the team starts with sheets of steel coming in our loading dock where they are laser cut, bent, welded, drilled, ground, sanded, polished, painted, assembled into final products and shipped to customers on all seven continents.
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven operations leader to oversee the daily manufacturing operations of the business unit. The position wlll be located in Keene, NH and you will be responsible all site operations including production, manufacturing engineering, global sourcing, capacity, planning/logistics, plant safety, facilities, lean and continuous improvement. You will lead a team of professionals across the sites, will be a key member of the senior leadership team and will report directly to the Business Unit Manager. You will be instrumental in the development of an performance to the company' annual strategic plan and budget, and in the review of company performanve on a monthly and quarterly basis. Success will be measured on consistently meeting production and sales (revenue and profit) goals.
You will:
- Create and implement strategy for high quality low cost continuously improving manufacturing and supply chain operations to enable profitable business unit growth.
- Recruit, develop and manage site operations, supply chain, and operational excellence talent.
- Evolve SIOP through daily planning processes to react to changing business conditions.
- Implement long range capacity and facilities planning process and link to capex planning and management process.
- Mature strategic sourcing and procurement organizations to secure more robust supply chains and better utilize resources.
- Build lean culture of continuous improvement.
- Actively participate with your PTMC leadership team colleagues in driving strategy for business unit including evolution of key inter-functional processes and IT systems.
- Act as a key leader in the organization, role modeling our values.

Business Partnering
- In conjunction with the team, develop and own our ongoing business strategy.
- Develop an Operations process, sourcing, and performance roadmap that is aligned with the business and commercial strategy.
- Develop and perform to an annual Operations budget, including total revenue, overall cost savings, manufacturing profitability, capital investments, and inventory levels.
- Support the development and transfer to manufacturing of new products, product features, and enhancements and ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
Operational Excellence
- Instill a metric and results-based operational culture at all manufacturing sites.
- Regularly report and drive continual improvement of key performance metrics such as safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost, inventory, and capacity.
- Work closely with the commercial team to set lead times, promise dates, and handle customer push-out and pull-in requests. Experience in Sales, Income, Operations Planning (SIOP) to validate orders, sales, income, inventory, capacity planning, lead times, supplier savings and staffing.
- Improve manufacturing processes and plant capacity optimization across the enterprise, employing advanced planning and manufacturing methods and models, identifying and eliminating production bottlenecks impacting operations.
You will have:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
10 years progressive experience in a key operations leadership/management role preferably in a complex manufacturing environment
Thorough knowledge of supply chain, commodities, purchasing and the ability to forecast trends and market pressures to help minimize supply risks and financial volatility
Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.
Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
