Director of Operations/Chief of Staff Customer Experience
Summary
We are looking for a professional supporting the Chief Customer Officer and her leadership team. USG continuously evolves its customer experience - a multi-year roadmap will be implemented. The Chief of Staff is the right hand of the Chief Customer Officer, assisting her with implementing new ideas and strategies, attending meetings on her behalf and much more.
The Chief of Staff works closely with the USG Customer Experience leadership team and handles principal duties that allow leaders and the senior team to focus on decision-making. The responsibilities revolve around integrating work streams, linking the leadership team with the broader organization, and advising their executives in decision-making.
Objectives of this role
- Leading the design and financial business casing of the customer experience roadmap
- Overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives, from development through execution, under the supervision of senior leadership
- Assisting executive leadership in decision-making and program management
- Improving the organizational structure by addressing knowledge and skill gaps
- Reviewing, designing, and implementing improvements to organizational procedures and structure to increase efficiency.
Chief of Staff: Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief of Staff uses strong diplomatic, leadership and problem-solving skills paired with outstanding program management experience to enable and enhance the daily operation of the Customer Experience functions. This role is the ideal position to have hands on the future and manage build a great foundation for the future career at USG:
- Strategy operationalization
- Collaborating with executive leadership to determine and implement business strategies while also providing consultation for improvements.
- Working with leadership to implement, monitor and present the progress of plans and goals.
- Helping to identify and tackle core problems in business processes.
- Providing senior leadership with insight and analysis of the business area's operations
- Assisting with risk assessment of new initiatives and business decisions
- Developing action plans for the dissemination of information across the organization and supporting the development of respective communication for the Customer Experience leadership.
- Organizational interaction and empowerment
- Leading the planning for the "rolling" roadmap or co-leading the process with respective program functions
- Address issues that might arise and ensure the sharing of essential information throughout the organization's ranks.
- Coordinating, preparing, and facilitating of meetings and workshops as required
- Assisting with inquiries regarding the customer experience roadmap, the budgeting, and the implementation plan.
Chief of Staff qualifications
Previous work experience both in top management consulting and with larger transformation management is an important factor to be successful in this role.
- University degree and/or MBA
- 3+ years top management consulting experience with a focus on operations management
- A business-minded strategic planner with experience in data analysis and budget management
- Relevant experience in planning, leading and implementing strategic initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and data-driven with excellent organizational skills
- Experience in organizing and directing multiple teams and departments in an executive role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments in a productive manner.
- Proven track record of organizing, leading and directing large teams.
- Possess a can-do attitude and an extreme dedication to efficiency.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
