Position Focus:
Manages the delivery of Nursing care and medical services for the Yale Reproductive Endocrinology and Yale Fertility (REI) clinical practices. Ensures adequate coverage of clinical services by nurse and medical assistant recruitment, training, and assignment to clinical duties. Ensures nursing standard operating procedures and HIPAA policies are adhered to within all active clinical sites, and a safe environment is created and maintained for the patients and the staff.
Essential Duties
1. Creates functional strategies, specific objectives and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. 2. Oversees large, complex and multifaceted projects and ensures project/practice milestones/goals are met, adhering to quality standards and approved budgets. Gathers and analyzes information to determine new and ongoing resource needs; determines objectives and formulates procedures and protocols; monitors progress toward objectives. 3. Assesses and identifies the needs of individual practices and adapts staffing models to ensure appropriate structures are in place to support regional clinical operations; oversees and directs a team of Managerial and Professional staff and provides leadership and direction to clinical staff where appropriate. 4. Provides oversight and guidance related to practice standards/policies/procedures, information technology, financial and clinical reporting and compliance management across multiple YM ambulatory locations. 5. Leads the transition of practices that have completed a YCOS assessment. 6. Evaluates the effectiveness and safety of operational procedures and protocols and makes immediate changes to facilitate the highest level of patient service and efficiency. Identifies issues that impede delivery of quality patient care; develops and implements short-term improvements and plans for long-term process improvements to be applied across YM clinical practices. 7. Addresses issues raised by providers, staff, patients and other internal/external customers using performance improvement principles; builds a culture of trust and collective problem-solving. 8. Utilizes in-depth knowledge/understanding of organization, makes specific and actionable recommendations for improvement, and provides guidance to leadership. Partners with members of the senior leadership team and regional medical directors to develop long-term objectives for the practice related to productivity, compliance, communication and patient satisfaction. 9. Creates and implements standardized policies and protocols consistent with the YM Practice Standards for Ambulatory Practices. 10. Monitors and analyzes monthly productivity statistics and key financial indicators to assess accuracy and effectiveness of processes. Identifies trends or items requiring immediate corrective action and provides recommendations to address needed improvements. Plans and implements improvement projects. 11. Monitors and enforces adherence to University and federal regulations, YM Policies and Procedures, Practice Standards, HIPAA regulations and Billing Compliance standards throughout all operational activities. 12. Oversees monitoring and adherence to customer service standards for staff members, addressing deficiencies as identified. Monitors patient satisfaction through multiple feedback mechanisms, utilizing such data to develop and institute requisite changes to improve performance. 13. Collaborates with the clinical leadership and other key departmental clinical/administrative staff on matters relating to practice performance and facilitates process improvement initiatives.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
M.S.N. or Health Services Administration or evidence of ongoing postbaccalaureate training in Nursing Administration preferred. Six years of previous experience in Nursing Service Administration, at least two of which have been reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. B.S.N. Required. Current licensure as an R.N. in the State of CT.
