Position Summary:  To assure that all Valley-Wide clinic sites have quality-nursing staff ; supporting and modeling a service-oriented culture focused on employee engagement, service excellence, quality improvement, fiscal responsibility, evidence-based nursing standards of patient care, and compliance with the Colorado Nurse Practice Act. Foster a culture of patient and family centered care, service, quality and safety excellence, while improving patient experience, employee experience and community relations.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
  • Strategizes and drives process improvements in conjunction with the CMO focused on innovative care delivery and/or operational models designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety within all of Valley-Wide Health Systems clinical settings.
  • Provides leadership, supervision, disciplinary actions, guidance and development for staff, articulating and demonstrating an expectation for continuous quality improvement with accountability, as well as continually supporting and exhibiting organizational values and service standards. Identifies and provides growth opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Is responsible for the development and implementation of organizational nursing policies and initiatives including clinical guidelines and workflow.
  • Promotes a patient-centered, healing environment and encourages the use and implementation of technology in the workplace in order to streamline operations, facilitate communications, and optimize work processes
  • Works with the Chief Medical Officer to promote service excellence philosophies and behaviors within Valley-Wide Health Systems to enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Establishes and enhances a culture of evidence-based decision making in clinical and management initiatives with the guidance from the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Performs Gap Analysis of Nursing practice for processes to measure and improve.
  • Integrates high ethical standards and core values into everyday activities
  • Create an environment in which professional and personal growth is an expectation and is fostered.
  • Establishes training for all nursing staff.
  • Works with Chief Medical Officer on nursing quality initiatives.
  • Licensed Staff:
    • Performs office nurse duties within scope of licensure as needed
    • Licensed staff will need to be privileged and credentialed as an Other Licensed or Certified Health Care Practitioner (OLCP).
    • A competency check must be completed at the time of the credentialing process.

 

Scope and Complexity:

This position has administrative leadership responsibilities and is directly accountable for the quality and appropriateness of Nursing care delivered to patients and contributes to the continuous improvement of Nursing services and staff. This position will create an overall focus of quality improvement and accountability for initiatives that involve the nursing staff. Responsibilities include coordinating services with other administrators, internal legal counsel, executives, and other staff. This position has constant contact with staff members, frequent contact with other Valley-Wide clinical divisions and management. Customers of this position are both internal and external, including leadership, staff, medical staff, regulatory agencies, and the community.

 

Education or Formal Training: Master’s degree in nursing or equivalent

Experience: 7 to 10 years of current nursing leadership and management experience demonstrating progressive leadership development and competency.

Pay Range:    Salary – Min: $73,840.00 – Max: $103,220/annually (based on qualifications and experience)
