We are looking for an experienced Director of Nursing for a location in Upstate, NY.
This is a permanent, full-time job.
In this role you will be supervising several out-patient programs in developing and implementing quality nursing policies, procedures, protocols, and related training.
An ideal candidate would have a BSN with current RN license in good standing in NYS, and minimum of five (5) years' experience in supervisory/managerial capacity, as well as experience with patients with neurological impairments.
Flexibility with schedules and willingness to work non-traditional hours.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Directly supervise all nurses and non-medical stuff, including, but not limited to, hiring, training, completion of performance evaluations, and issuance of guidance/disciplinary action, if necessary.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an orientation training program for new nurses and other direct reports.
- Develop, review, and revise (as necessary) policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice.
- Provides oversight of Nursing budgets, including supplies and pharmacy invoices.
- Acts as liaison to the pharmacies, internal and external medical facilities, and families as necessary.
- Develop and implement a system for monitoring the provision of services and adherence to departmental procedures and standards (i.e., chart reviews).
- Reviews the medical status/conditions of Individuals supported and provides clinical consultation and direction to all nursing personnel.
- Interprets new regulations (i.e., infection control, medication administration, employee health) and develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
