Job Description

Purpose of Position:

Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Nursing, the A.D.N is responsible for planning, organizing,

directing, coordinating and evaluating the quality of care rendered in the E.D. The A.D.N has the authority and

responsibility of managing the unit in order to guarantee the quality of care for every patient assigned to the

unit and is held accountable by the use of the nursing process. She/he is responsible for the implementation of

the Nursing Department's philosophy and objective of Nursing care into management of Nursing care on the

patient's unit.

Job Responsibilities:

- Receives report by making walking rounds with incoming/outgoing staff.

- Coordinates patient care by collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.

- Assess each patient needs and establishes appropriate plan of care based on Nursing Assessment and

diagnosis.

- Maintains standards of care by ensuring that an individualized plan of care for each patient is developed and

implemented.

- Evaluates nursing care, the patient's response to intervention and make modifications as needed.

- Delegates assignments based on staff competence and priority of patient care utilizing the departmental

triage classification system.

- Supervises and assists the staff in patient assessments, documentation, implementation and evaluation of

nursing care.

- Supervision of professional and non-professional personnel.

- Completes performance evaluation for assigned staff.

- Maintains attendance profiles on personnel, which will be reviewed periodically.

- Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Licensed and currently registered to practice as a professional nurse in New York State, plus (2) or (3),

below.

2. Masters Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical Specialty or equivalent field and five years of

satisfactory nursing experience, of which three years shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity; or

a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and six years of satisfactory nursing experience, four years of which shall

have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity.

3. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience. However, all candidates must be licensed and

currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.```Job Overview:

- Ensure adherence to resident rights and promote a safe and comfortable environment for patients
- Utilize medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to effectively communicate with healthcare providers
- Oversee nursing administration tasks, such as scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting professional development

Requirements:
- Valid nursing license in [state]
- Proven experience in nursing administration or a similar leadership role
- Strong knowledge of healthcare systems and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure
- Experience in home health or long-term care settings is preferred

- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
