We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Director of Marketing and Communications to lead our diverse and multi-talented marketing team. As a visionary leader, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that resonate with our target audience and set industry benchmarks. This role requires a leader who is forward-thinking, a collaborator and adept at navigating the complexities of aligning marketing strategies with executive expectations and broader company goals. Your leadership will ensure our marketing efforts are cohesive, innovative, and effectively drive our brand toward our strategic goals.
Salary Range: $120,000.00 to $138,000.00 Annually. The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Compensation will be based upon education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Job Summary:
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the Matrix's vision, goals, and growth targets and integrates with our strategic business plans. Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Strategic Business Development Team.
- Be a beacon of innovation, constantly seeking out new opportunities for expansion and positive impact of the Matrix brand and culture.
- Lead and mentor a team of Marketing professionals, including functional managers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure their success and professional growth.
- Elevate our brand's presence and reputation across all channels, ensuring our message is powerful, consistent, and reaches our target audience effectively.
- Stay ahead of market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive landscapes to adapt strategies in real-time, ensuring our brand remains relevant and ahead of the curve.
- Work closely with other groups and Centers of Excellence to ensure marketing strategies are integrated and supportive of overall business objectives. Be a champion of unity, driving projects that require cross-discipline cooperation to succeed.
- Define, measure, and analyze key marketing metrics to track success and areas for improvement. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and optimize strategies.
- Prepare an annual marketing plan and budget for advertising, proposal preparation, trade show expenses, multi-media materials, and other elements related to marketing of the firm.
- Enhance our proposal preparation process to support firm-wide marketing needs, including scheduling, resource allocation, graphics preparation, cost control, and tracking of the company’s overall success rate. Provide recommendations to management to improve the effectiveness of proposals and the quality and overall marketing effort.
- Oversee the Client Relations Management process and program.
- Oversee and direct marketing support staff and its marketing coordination efforts, including the recruiting and evaluation of Marketing support staff.
- Manage the development and maintenance of firm-wide marketing collateral and resource materials (i.e., brochures, data, slides, color copies, photographs, files, resumes, bios, and client database.) Oversee preparation for submittals, responses, proposals, presentations, interviews, and other marketing-related activities and materials.
- Write/edit text for firm promotional pieces and press releases.
- Assign responsibility or personally monitor RFP and solicitation search engines daily for all sectors the firm serves. Coordinate the tracking of other sources of RFPs to support Centers of Excellence within the firm.
- At the direction of the Executive Leadership Team, represent the company at select professional organization meetings to improve company exposure and support the generation of Marketing leads for the firm. Coordinate all arrangements for trade shows and conferences and oversee setup.
- Continually develop concepts and assist in maintenance of the Matrix’s website.
- Update Matrix’s information annually in federal, state, and local government Marketing and business databases, including federal SF330, and state and local marketing forms.
- Manage and evaluate the performance of Marketing campaigns and team members, providing opportunities for growth and development.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in communications and marketing to maximize efficiencies and meet business goals.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, or related discipline.
- A minimum of ten years of progressive marketing/business development/sales experience in a professional services firm. Having this experience in an A&E firm is strongly desired and will be given preference.
- Proven experience as a Marketing leader or similar role, with a track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
- Experience with strategic planning, market research, public relations, direct mail campaigns, and supervision of proposal preparation, brochures, and development of collateral materials.
- Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator.
- Firm grasp of technical writing; ability to synthesize, summarize, proof, and technically edit.
- Demonstrated supervisory ability.
- Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR check.
