Job Summary | Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in wetland, water resources, and environmental permitting compliance, including sustainable and resilient wetland creation/restoration, streambank restoration and stabilization, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments, construction oversight, contractor coordination, and environmental remediation. The candidate should also have experience developing and leading successful land use permit applications in New Jersey and/or surrounding states.
Essential Responsibilities
Duties will include leading the land use permitting and wetlands services practices including management of staff and maintaining and supporting several existing long-term land use/wetlands projects. The successful candidate will also maintain and continue to develop our established land use/wetlands practices.
Project scopes include, but are not limited to, land use permit application development, habitat characterization surveys (wetland, streams, and vegetation), sampling of environmental media, restoration design/planning, field surveys, construction compliance oversight and documentation, post-construction monitoring, report writing, and environmental permitting.
Experience Required
- Experience with land use permitting, wetland delineation, habitat surveys, wetlands restoration design and planning, restoration implementation and monitoring.
- Experience with invasive species control and plant identification.
- Experience in freshwater and tidal brackish ecosystems.
- Experience in managing for resiliency, climate change impacts analysis, and sustainable resource management – engineering with nature.
- Interest in sustainable and resilient habitat design and restoration.
- Experience sampling environmental media.
- Experience with GIS and GPS.
- Experience in compilation, depiction, and analysis of survey/sampling data (Excel).
- Experience in technical report writing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of NJ, PA, and USEPA environmental regulations, especially those relating to wetlands and land use.

Education and Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an environmental science, ecological or biological field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- 10 years of experience with land use permitting and wetlands work.
- Professional Wetland Scientist certification or the ability to obtain the certification is a plus.
- 40-Hour OSHA Hazwoper Training with Annual 8-Hour Refresher
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
