Job Summary:
The Finance Technology Director is responsible for partnering across IT and Finance to deliver key initiatives for the organization. This talented individual will manage the overall finance technology roadmap and project portfolio, and will deliver forward-thinking creative solutions that help to drive the technology strategy. Experience with Finance application transformations (on-prem to the cloud) is preferred.
The Director’s day-to-day activities include delivery of large projects, ongoing releases, rigorous prioritization, vendor release management and planning, and alignment of internal and vendor roadmaps to our business objectives and IT resources.
This role is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Project Managers, Solution Architects, Developers and Business Analyst professionals to deliver scalable and efficient processes and expanded capabilities to the Finance organization.
This is a leadership role with direct interactions with the CIO and CFO and their leadership teams, reporting to the VP of Line of Business Technology.
Job Responsibilities:
Drive:
- Develop and drive the accountability of business objectives and supporting IT initiatives.
- Provide project/program facilitation and oversight; facilitate agreement on objectives and success measures, provide overall project/program issue resolution and roadblock removal.
- Ensure timely and consistent communication to facilitate a clear understanding of ongoing projects and their prioritization within the organization
- Assist in the finalization of the Finance, Accounting, and Procurement business strategy
- Lead and organize efforts to plan and develop key events to achieve desired outcomes (e.g., management and leadership meetings). Facilitate and manage the definition of agendas, materials, review cycles, timelines, etc.
- Deliver high-impact solutions by identifying key issues, defining appropriate work structure, and driving workable recommendations that create value
- Partner closely at the Vice President and Director levels to support key areas of work that focus on highest priorities, including suggesting and managing the best time allocation and use of group meetings

- Inspire trust and build strong, authentic, productive relationships within the Finance Technology team and with key stakeholders.
- Effectively engage and collaborate with leadership across the organization to develop, define and build on innovative ideas and business priorities.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field
- 8+ years of relevant work experience including proven ability to successfully lead and oversee critical projects and multi-faceted efforts
- Experience managing ERP’s (ex: PeopleSoft, SAP, Workday) and other smaller applications (ex: Coupa, Concur, Planful, OnBase) is preferred
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of key concepts in Finance, Accounting, and Procure-to-Pay business areas
- Authentically connect with and lead others who do not directly report to you
- Successful partnership with Director and VP levels within Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and related technology leaders
- Business advocate with a deep understanding in technology with experience delivering complex projects
Additional Requirements
Leadership:
- Ability to lead a dynamic team – providing coaching, timely feedback, and opportunities for the team members
- Ability to drive strategy, vision, direction, and prioritization on enterprise-wide projects and programs at the Executive level.
- Can manage initiatives from concept through to completion, including the development and presentation of a business case.
- Applies systems thinking to generate new thoughts and opportunities; has ability to build on strategic and innovative thoughts/ideas.
- Informed on industry standards and practices, and a forward thinker on new innovative approaches.
- Experience in digital transformations is preferred
Project Management:
- Ability to socialize and manage a portfolio of projects supporting stated strategic objectives.
- Manage business operational impacts as well as technical components of the program or project.
- Work with internal and external teams to develop and execute a comprehensive QA approach for enterprise-wide projects and programs.
- Provide vision and leadership regarding organizational design and resourcing of large, complex and undefined enterprise-wide initiatives including all aspects of management from vision through execution.
- Ability to manage/oversee internal and contract resources across multiple projects.
Financials:
- Manage enterprise-wide programs with complex financial models including internal and external stakeholders and complex contract negotiation.
- Participate in the annual expense and capital budgeting processes for both Finance and IT
- Manage team’s OpEx budget and the capital budgets associated with different initiatives
Vendor Management:
- Adept at managing relationships with vendors and other external partners, influencing product roadmaps, resourcing, and financial management to ensure the best possible long-term outcomes.
- Experience negotiating vendor contracts.
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $129,900 - $166,950 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
