Job Description
The Director of IT is a key resource in providing overall technical and operational management for Caresyntax's IT infrastructure, systems, and end users globally. This role works closely with the IT team in Berlin, Germany, as well as 3rd party IT service vendors in the US and EU. The Director of IT reports into the Chief Information Officer.
- Directly manage IT Administrators in Germany
- Manage global IT Infrastructure- including the hardware in Berlin and the US, network infrastructure, servers, and firewall
- Maintain, administrate, and upgrade physical and virtual servers (Linux & Microsoft Windows servers). Maintain inventory of endpoints, licenses, and hardware.
- Maintain, administrate, and upgrade network infrastructure, including but not limited to network/VPN set up and configuration, firewalls setup and configuration, overall network optimizations, network storage.
- Design, implement, and maintain IT and data security and controls, including end-user protection and anti-virus, anti-malware, email spam/phishing prevention, hacking attacks.
- Proactively identify and mitigate security risk and vulnerabilities using various industry tools and methods.
- Monitor security events generated by network monitoring tools as part of Incident Response (IR) support. Perform analysis by working with affected staffs and confirm actionable incident.
- Work closely with Information and Data security officer in identifying and documenting security issues and compliance gaps using various security framework such as NIST 800-53, Common Security Framework, and good understanding of HITRUST, SOC2, GDPR, HIPPA, etc. and work to design and implement necessary security policy and controls to address potential gaps.
- Hands-on build and manage endpoint images of new and existing devices, and set them up for deployment.
- Hands-on responsible for end users IT support, including laptop, desktops provisioning, setup, configurations, as well as end user support tickets resolutions in a timely manner.
- Hands-on responsible for user administration including AD account setup and administration.
- Hands-on responsible for MS cloud hosted Office365 administration.
- Directly work with and supervise 3rd party IT service vendors to ensure smooth operation of the company’s IT infrastructure and services; monitor the SLA of external IT services vendors.
- Participate in the design, implementation and maintenance of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan and procedures.
- Responsible for IT assets management, inventory and life cycle tracking.
- Participate and support various audits such as ISO27001 and ISO13485.
- Ability to work on projects independently, prioritize, and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Comply with ongoing CRM updates
- Support Quality audits and initiatives
- BA/BS degree in technical field (e.g., computer science, engineering, etc.)- Required
- More than 10 years of IT administration experience- Required
- Five years of previous management experience- Required
- Previous experience within the Healthcare industry- Preferred
- Strong understanding and working knowledge/experience with Red Hat Linux and MS Windows Server systems, both physical and virtual.
- Knowledge and experience in network administration, firewall security, VPN, etc.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Active Directory administration.
- Strong knowledge and experience in IT security, design and implementation of various IT and data security measures and controls. Familiar with various security framework such as HIPPA, HITRUST, SOC2.
- Strong knowledge and experience in cloud computing, especially with administration of MS Office365 hosted solutions (Outlook, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc).
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, server clustering and high availability systems. Experienced with Hyper-V administration.
- Experience with End User Computing support; with proven track record of successfully designed and implemented end user support process and procedures.
- Experience with managing and working with 3rd party IT vendors.
- Experienced in design and implementation of BC/DR plan.
