Job Overview:

This role reports to VP, Corporate Development and is responsible for developing and overseeing the Product Management department. As a Director ofProduct Management, you would lead the Product Management team, setting the strategic direction for our insurance offerings. Your responsibilities would include overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch and ongoing refinement. This role involves collaborating with various departments, managing a team of product managers, and ensuring alignment with business goals. Analyzing market trends, competitor products, and customer feedback would be crucial for making informed decisions. Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build out, manage and develop the Product Management team, including hiring, training, mentoring and motivating all personnel on the team
• P&L responsibility for all product lines developed and managed by the team
• Product champion for the company, owning all aspects of the Insurance Products developed and managed by the team
• Ensure strategic alignment within both Aioi USA and MOTER, and with Aioi Japan, MS&AD and TIMS
• Prepare and deliver management presentations to parent companies and affiliates

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Math/Actuarial Science or another related field.
• 7+ years of P 5+ years of product experience. Personal lines and auto experience strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of personnel management experience
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a deep intellectual curiosity.
• A knack for identifying trends, communicating results, and taking action.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Roll-up-the sleeves work ethic and “do-what-it takes” attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as business, statistics, mathematics, or economics strongly preferred
• Experience interacting at the highest levels of management
• Knowledge of statistical modeling, generalized linear models, mathematical optimization, and/or data aggregation
• Experience with R, Python and/or SQL
• Ability to solve problems, think critically, and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
• Ability to learn new technology

 Compensation:

• For California based hires:
  Estimated annual salary range from $150,000 to $215,000
