We are seeking a Director of HFC Operations to provide technical solutions and product deployments for the Technical Field Services (TFS) division. This person will be responsible to lead and manage a team of in-house and subcontracted resources through the execution of contracted work and drive business success and process improvement through all that we do.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, guide, and direct associated Field/Sweep Technician, Field Engineers, and subcontracted resources in day-to-day duties.
  • Work directly with project management, customers, vendors, industry leaders, and team to formulate, articulate, and deliver the best strategic direction for CCI.
  • Team with Sales to build and maintain channels with partners, vendors, and engineering consultants to attain leads and execute business.
  • Work with Sales team on pricing matrix and updating of cost of doing business.
  • Review and validate opportunities, designs, and requests.
  • Perform designs including diagrams, proposals, and bill-of-materials as needed.
  • Perform deployment services including configuration, method of procedure documents, and training as needed.
  • Perform the contracted tasks of our projects where and when needed to fill gaps in resources and ensure we are on schedule.
  • Take strategic direction and develop overall practice strategy and goals with Director of Operations.
  • Align, partner, and engage with partner BUs to drive project success.
  • Support and lead the closing of business opportunities and successful implementation of services with high marks in customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve all financial goals including budget compliance and other items.
  • Understand and track GP/revenue, EBITDA, productivity and various other financial KPI’s for existing projects.
  • Surpass customer satisfaction goals working with Sales and Operations to monitor customer satisfaction, identify problems and take corrective action to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain constant intimate familiarization with the markets and customers served.
  • Lead and collaborate in the deployment of new products, services, and work techniques in accordance with company goals and objectives and/or as requested by customers.
  • Establish relationships with current and new subcontractors to maximize resource utilization and drive new subcontractor onboarding.
  • Drive Customer Success through readied engineers and best use of our resources.
  • Support, collaborate, and deploy the training rolled out for our teams. Be a leader and supporter to ensure all possible avenues for training for engineers are leveraged from online resources, playbooks, labs.
  • Support and lead the closing of business opportunities and successful implementation of services with high marks in customer satisfaction.
  • Perform project site visits to interact with Field/Sweep Technicians, Field Engineers, and customer to ensure project success.
  • Manage and approve employee schedules, travel, expense reporting, and various other day to day items.
  • Training and mentorship of practice members.
  • Sign-off on work completed.
  • Perform the interview process for potential candidates and follow thru with the onboarding process.
  • Perform reviews with each Field/Sweep Technician and Field Engineers.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Sr Director of Operations.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in an Engineering/Field Service Engineer role related to HFC and/or FTTx required.
  • 5+ Years experience managing a diverse team of Technicians, Engineers, and Subcontractors in various geographic areas is required.
  • Ability to assess Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP) hardware and infrastructure including but not limited to plant documentation, Hybrid Fiber Coax, (HFC) active and passives, reading and understanding OSP diagrams/drawings, taking and maintaining accurate field notes, operation of a bucket truck, accessing network enclosures and nodes and operation of testing gear required.
  • Substantial Technical Education related to HFC, Headend setups, Networking, HFC Upgrades, and similar technologies preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills including the use of Visio and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Spatial and other design software preferred.
  • Proven track record of consistent and successful projects and or customer experience.
  • Substantial experience with project financials.
  • Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset
  • The ability to negotiate change orders and subcontractor contracts.
  • The ability to creatively drive customer success and customer satisfaction.
  • Balance the role of PRE and POST sales initiatives along with deployment of readiness preparation and training for our CCI engineers.
  • Balance the use of internal and external resources and recommend accordingly.
  • The ability to positively motivate teams around technology solutions.
  • The ability to effectively implement solutions and teach others to lead for future implementations.
  • Leadership with skills to positively influence others, collaborate with teammates, communicate on the level of others, listen, and understand people in circumstances common in the workplace.
  • The ability to embrace corporate values, understand the company vision, and exemplify CCI leadership behaviors.


Shift is Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST but must be able to work outside normal business hours when required.

Additional information

  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% to complete projects at customer locations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • This is a remote position when not traveling.
